  Apr 18th, 14:30 UTC

allocPSA, the premier open source Professional Services Automation solution, has just seen its second major release under the popular GNU General Public License (GPL). Businesses worldwide can now download and deploy a proven, production-grade online services management solution, free of charge.

"allocPSA is a suite of integrated applications (a Professional Services Automation suite) designed for services-based organisations," said Cybersource's CEO Con Zymaris. "allocPSA enables services organisations to achieve better profitability by improving staff efficiency through increased utilisation of productive time, better planning and integrated knowledge management."

allocPSA is a complete, organisation-wide business solution that integrates all practice groups and functions in a professional services company, into a single computer system. allocPSA consists of a set of tightly integrated software modules for business areas such as:

  • resource planning,
  • project management,
  • time and expenses,
  • integration with existing invoicing,
  • book-keeping and payroll systems,
  • issue tracking,
  • while-you-were-out messages,
  • company-wide announcements,
  • reminders,
  • knowledge management,
  • collaboration,
  • services supply chain,
  • human resources and staff skilling and
  • management of cost-centres.

allocPSA 1.3, released to Sourceforge.net this week, offers a greatly improved interface, with all facets of the application now offering a better end-user experience. In addition, the new version introduces a new graphical installer, a new global setup screen, improved PDF timesheet generation, localisation of goods and services tax settings, in-calendar action buttons as well as calendar sharing between users.

"Since its launch last year, we've had thousands of organisations download allocPSA. With this new release, we're hoping to make it even more popular by making it much easier to install and use, helping to bring a powerful solution to every services business," concluded Zymaris.
