9th December 1999 -- LONDON, UK. Xinit Computer Systems, the UK's premier Linux OEM has just released the WavX 1U rackmount server. The unique space saving design of the WavX 1U allows up to 42 servers to be stacked into a standard rack.
"This server is perfect for colocation. Rack space does not come cheap and the WavX 1U is the answer", said Jasmine Palla , Managing Director of Xinit Computer Systems.
The WavX 1U, even though only 1.75" high, is a highly configurable server. The server comes with a 366MHz Intel Celeron processor, 64MB ECC SDRAM and 13.5GB of storage. It also includes a built in 10/100 ethernet interface. All this is upgradeable to 500MHz of processing power, 68GB of internal storage, 256MB ECC SDRAM and 3 ethernet interfaces.
"I believe that this server is going to prove even more popular than the WavX 2U we launched a couple of months ago. Starting in January we will be shipping this product with appliance software to make it easy to configure services via a web browser", added Ms. Palla.
