  Aug 2nd, 15:59 UTC

Visual Paradigm DB Visual ARCHITECT for NetBeans/ Sun One is a plug-in for NetBeans which is a full-featured Object-Relational Mapping tool.

Visual Paradigm DB Visual ARCHITECT for NetBeans/ Sun TM One (DBVA-NB) is a plug-in for NetBeans which is a full-featured Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tool. DBVA-NB supports the automation of mapping between object model, data model and relational database and the generation of code and database schema according to the object model and data model defined in the class diagram, EJB diagram and entity relationship diagram. DBVA-NB supports the latest and full UML 2.0 diagrams and notations for visual modeling and also the standards of Java notations for generating code.

In order to fully support ORM, a reliable and high-performance persistence layer between object and relational models is generated which in turn reduces the risk of developing it manually.

DBVA-NB also supports EJB development. EJB diagram is provided for modeling the EJB system, mapping Entity Bean to Database is automated and the generation of Enterprise JavaBeans and mapping layer is also supported.

Visual Paradigm is pleased to announce that DB Visual ARCHITECT 2.0 for NetBeans has been released with numerous modeling and usability enhancement guaranteed to satisfy your database application development.

What's new in DBVA-NB 2.0?

Customizable SQL - SQL statements are generated automatically for manipulating the database. DBVA-NB allows users to customize the SQL statements in case of finding the generated SQL statements not applicable to his/her needs.

Mapping One Class to Multiple Tables - It is risky to append a new column to an existing database table, DBVA-NB allows developers to add new columns to an additional table called Partial Tables which has a one-to-one identifying relationship linked to an existing table, which optimizes the size of database. The partial table and its one-to-one associated table will map to one class which reduces the number of generated classes for application development.

EJB Diagram Support - In order to support the EJB development, DBVA-NB allows user to model their remote, distributed systems using EJB diagram.

Enhanced Reverse Engineering a Database - In addition to reverse engineering a database into entity relational model and POJO model, DBVA-NB 2.0 also allows reverse engineering a database into Enterprise JavaBeans model and Enterprise JavaBeans.

EJB Code Generation and Deployment - In order to fully support EJB development extensively, DBVA-NB can generate beans based on the EJB models and provide a deployment facility for the generated beans.

Support of Multiple Application Servers for EJB application - EJB development is available for being deployed to different application servers, such as JBoss, IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, Oracle and JOnAs.

Enhanced Smart Resources - DBVA-NB allows you to create the class diagram, EJB diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram in an easier way by providing the valid editing resources listed around the diagram elements. This Resource-centric interface is enhanced in version 2.0 by grouping the similar natured resources together to minimize the number of visible resources simultaneously.
