Sun Wah Linux and Jiangsu Province Software Industry Co. Ltd. to launch China's third Linux Supporting Center

Sun Wah Linux and Jiangsu Province Software Industry Co. Ltd. last week signed a collaboration agreement on setting up China's third Linux supporting center.

Hong Kong July 14, 2004 -Sun Wah Linux and Jiangsu Province Software Industry Co. Ltd. last week signed a collaboration agreement on setting up China's third Linux supporting center.

The center, which is located in the Jiangsu Software Park, China, consists of eight departments: International Cooperation, Training and Education, Technology Application, Technology Application, Software Outsourcing and Exporting, Career, Commerce Nurturing, Linux Investment and Linux National Standard Research.

The signing ceremony was held at the Jiangsu Software Park. The management team of both sides attended the ceremony. During the ceremony, both sides had exchanged ideas on infrastructure, management and direction of the running of the center.

Lacking of Linux professionals in China becomes an obstacle to the growing Chinese Linux industry. At the beginning of the establishment, the Linux supporting center will focus on Linux education and professional training - recruitment of students specializes in Embedded Linux software will be launched in the mid of August.

The Jiangsu Linux Center is the combined efforts of Sun Wah Linux, Jiangsu Province Software Industry Co. Ltd, Jiangsu Provincial Government, Jiangsu Science and Technology Department, Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and Information Industry Department. The Chinese government seizes every opportunity to develop her domestic software industry. As Linux is a low-cost and patent-free operating system, Linux is the choice for developing the Chinese domestic software industry. With collaboration among the Chinese government, Linux community and Linux companies, various Linux resources in China can be utilized more efficiently.
