Connect Computing Gives User a Linux Option
  Jul 6th, 17:12 UTC

Businesses should be tired of tradition "Consulting" companies pushing proprietary software.

Over the last 10 years, Roy Hoobler of Connect Computing Inc has worked in both Microsoft and Linux environments, working as a programmer, database administrator, software / systems engineer, technical writer, and consultant. With Linux and distributions such as Mandrake, Red Hat, and Suse (Novell) becoming more mature and gaining acceptance, The time maybe right to offer these types of services to small and medium businesses.

"We focus on "which" technology can work with your business and get the job done. I also believe that before investing in expensive software, the client should be aware of alternatives that might be as mainstream but not in the press. Having the option to use Linux and products like Open Office and PostgreSQL is a big plus that most vendor-oriented consultants overlook", said Roy for this release.

Currently Connect Computing offers their own Sonoma Portal (an Open Source web portal) as a web and integration solution as well as support for other applications from PHP to Visual Basic.
