Sena Technologies is pleased to announce the release of UPSLink, serial to SNMP converter to control and manage the UPS over the network without having to run power management software on a server.

UPSLink incorporates an integrated SNMP agent that sends UPS information and generates traps, using the RFC 1628 MIB standard. This feature enables UPS management on compatible management stations such as HP OpenView, Novell Managewise and IBM NetView. Embedded Web server, powerful 32-bit processor (Motorola MPC855T), and open Linux platform (Hard Hat 2.0 - Linux Kernel 2.4.2) in UPSLink facilitates further customization of your power protection solutions. Network Managers can perform SNMP functions such as "gets" to determine specific power information, battery capacity or output load and "sets" for implementing advanced network functions, such as "test battery", or "turn UPS off".

UPSLink Key features

1. Control and manage serial data UPS over network via SNMP.
2. Supports 10 Base-T/100 Base Fast Ethernet network.
3. Supports industry standard SNMP MIB II and UPS MIB.
4. Supports various commercial NMS including Novell, HP OpenView, Sun NetManager, and IBM NetView.
5. Configuration via web, telnet or NMS.
6. Automatic email delivery of system log and statistics.
7. Management software for configuration and administration.

Web management interface of UPSLink displays information in the form of bar charts, and digital values for critical UPS data including mains voltage, UPS load and battery charge percentage. The graphical display also provides detailed information on a wide range of UPS parameters, and offers users all the information they need for first level diagnostics. UPSLink automatically records UPS events and alarms in an event/history log, and allows remote management of logs.

Having the ability to know when a UPS switches to battery power in a remote location can be very useful. UPS Manufacturers, and System Integrators can take the benefit of SNMP equipped UPSLink to provide the scalable, and cost-effective solution to UPS device.
