Puget Sound Technology is teaching a beginning web server
administration workshop on Thursday evening, June 6 in Everett, Wash.
The workshop is one of a series of
Linux and BSD administration and open source Unix classes. Puget Sound Technology is teaching a beginning web server
administration workshop on Thursday evening, June 6 in Everett, Wash.
This workshop will cover the basics of installing, configuring and
maintaining the
Apache HTTP Server for hosting websites.
Since 1996, the Apache HTTP Server has been the most popular web server
on the internet; and currently it is more widely used than all other
web servers combined. It is free and open source software that runs
on a numerous Unix and even Microsoft Windows platforms.
The three-hour workshop also covers common run-time configuration
directives, and techniques for setting up virtual hosting,
password-protected webpages and analyzing traffic logs.
This course is one of a series of ongoing open source seminars
provided by Puget Sound Technology. Upcoming workshops include:
Installing Linux; Configuring and Troubleshooting Domain Name (DNS)
Services; and Exploring the KDE Graphical Environment.
