Puget Sound Technology to ease Linux server administration
Dec 14th, 20:12 UTC
The recently announced Daily Maintenance Service provides
remote monitoring, security audits, logfile
analysis, software updates and other important administration tasks. Unix administration can be a daunting task. Recent security
announcements have brought new threats and more software to update --
bringing more work for many companies that have limited man-power or
lack of expertise. Puget Sound Technology is looking to improve this.
The company's Daily Maintenance Service, announced last week,
provides continuing remote monitoring, security audits, logfile
analysis, software updates and other important administration tasks.
In addition, if the software vendor delays important security fixes,
Puget Sound Technology may provide their own interim patches.
"The idea behind our maintenance service is to allow companies to focus
on their specialties by outsourcing their ongoing server maintenance,"
says Heather Reed, director of services marketing at Puget Sound
Technology.
This Daily Maintenance Service is available for systems running
a recent stable release of an open source GNU/Linux or BSD operating
system, such as Red Hat Linux 7.2 or OpenBSD 3.0. The pricing starts at
US$265 per month. For more information about the Daily Maintenance
Service, go to www.pugetsoundtechnology.com/services/maintenance/.
