Zelerate Warehouse Management to Unify Order Management and Fulfillment Functions

SAN MATEO, CA -- December 13, 2000 -- Zelerate, Inc., the leading provider of accelerated e-commerce solutions, today announced that it is preparing to launch the industry's first suite of application software to fully integrate e-commerce and fulfillment functions. Called Zelerate Warehouse Management(tm), the browser-based software will streamline and optimize all aspects of warehouse logistics as it works with the company's Zelerate AllCommerce(tm) application suite for e-commerce.

Designed for integration with the front-ends of existing e-commerce systems, Zelerate Warehouse Management will also work with legacy accounting, CRM and ERP software--as well as other warehouse management packages. A developer's version of the system will be available at the end of this month, with commercial availability slated for the first quarter of 2001.

"E-commerce business failures are most frequently caused by the inability to integrate order management functions with fulfillment capabilities," said Bonnie Crater, president and CEO of Zelerate, Inc. "By integrating electronic sales with warehouse management, we are creating a very efficient system that will truly allow businesses to deliver goods accurately and on time."

To ensure the accurate receiving of products, optimized inventory control and prompt shipping of goods, Zelerate AllCommerce allows orders through PDAs and cell phones, as well as online and through call centers and kiosks. On the back-end, the Zelerate Warehouse Management will optimize the ability of warehousing staff to most efficiently receive, put away, replenish, pick, pack and ship orders. And, through the advanced shipping notification feature of Zelerate Warehouse Management, warehousing and fulfillment centers will be able to streamline and simplify receiving processes.

For ease of use in the physical warehouse environment, the system will feature barcode reader and radio frequency support for optimal mobility. Packing and shipping will be simplified with verified orders picked with an integrated shipping system. To further reduce operating expenses and increase warehouse efficiency, the Zelerate dynamic pick model will reduce the amount of square footage needed to warehouse goods.

Other problems addressed by Zelerate Warehouse Management include sales integration scenarios in which orders will be processed and tracked from multiple sales channels--whether direct sales, online orders, call centers or mail orders. This, according to Zelerate, will provide a critical tool to online businesses that must accurately promise delivery dates to remain competitive.

Like all Zelerate offerings, Zelerate Warehouse Management will be released under the nonrestrictive GNU Public License (GPL), which accelerates software development by encouraging a worldwide community of developers to test, modify and critique solutions. Zelerate will announce the full feature set of Zelerate Warehouse Management later this month.
