Partnership with WebTrends Allows Rackspace Customers To Measure Site Success

SAN ANTONIO - Oct. 10, 2000 - Rackspace Managed Hosting, a leading provider of managed Internet hosting services, today announced a partnership with WebTrends Corporation (NASDAQ: WEBT), the leading provider of Visitor Relationship ManagementTM and eBusiness Intelligence. The partnership will provide Rackspace customers with analysis of the behavior patterns and preferences of visitors to their Web site. Through WebTrends, IT managers can use that insight to optimize and improve the Web visitor and customer experience.

The WebTrends Enterprise Reporting Server provides detailed e-business intelligence of Web server traffic to produce real-time reports on the click stream that visitors follow through a Web site. The product also allows e-businesses to track the number of visitors to their site, the percentage of unique and repeat visitors and the average length of time visitors spend on the site. Additionally, businesses can track the country, the service provider and referring sites from which visitors entered. E-businesses can then use this information to analyze the success of marketing campaigns, banner ads, site navigation and design and new product launches.

The WebTrends packages are fully monitored, administered and supported by Rackspace's 24 X 7 technical support staff. They use browser-based interfaces and can be integrated into Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris, and Microsoft Windows NT and Win2000 operating systems.

Elliot Cunningham of Rhythmhouse Records in San Antonio, a pilot customer for the service, said, "WebTrends Enterprise Reporting Server enables my company to have its Web performance monitored in real-time. The icing on the cake is that once I sign up, Rackspace takes care of the administration so I can focus on my site."

"As a managed hosting company, we know that a Web presence is crucial when it comes to business execution," said Graham Weston, chief executive officer of Rackspace Managed Hosting. "The ability to analyze visitor traffic coming to your Web site lets you see how your business is doing so that you can tailor marketing to your audience. This makes our offering a valuable and accessible tool for everyone."

"Rackspace's customers will benefit greatly from this added level of service," said Coleen Carey, director of product marketing for WebTrends Corporation. "Visitor intelligence is an important part of managers' efforts to understand the key metrics that define the health of their e-business."

To allow customers of all sizes to benefit from this valuable reporting solution, Rackspace is offering two different WebTrends packages. The Basic Package, designed for single servers, provides a weekly report showing aggregated trends based on traffic generated by the Web site. The Basic Package is fully administrated by Rackspace and functions only on a single domain. Extra domains can be added for an additional fee.

The WebTrends Full Service package offered by Rackspace allows users with high-traffic sites - such as e-businesses or customers with multiple servers - to monitor their site traffic on unlimited domains with reported resolution of one hour - an invaluable service for customers who base their business on the Web.
