theKompany.com Adds Three to Growing Team

theKompany.com has beefed up its core development team by adding two open source programmers from existing development projects. theKompany.com is pleased to welcome Phil Thompson, developer of PyQt and PyKDE, a package for using the Python programming language with Qt and KDE development; and Max Judin, developer of KDE Studio, an IDE tool for developing KDE applications for Linux. Both of these projects are now being hosted by theKompany.com. This is in addition to their recently announced 2 year financial support of the Kword project, part of Koffice for KDE.

"We intend to do as much as we can to support existing and future open source development projects," says Gordon. "Furthermore, we are proud to have two such expert programmers on board with us. We look forward to working with them and others as time goes on."

As a further step towards theKompany.com's efforts to create and promote all-round quality products, Web and graphic designer John Grantham has been engaged to create theKompany.com's corporate identity, packaging and Web site. Grantham previously produced the corporate identity and Web sites of Loki Entertainment Software, LinuxPPC, Inc.; ON Channel, Inc.; and macnews.de.

"We are all long-standing, active members of the open source and Linux development community," Gordon said. "We have taken this opportunity to develop new software, and improve existing open source software. In addition, we have fine tuned and streamlined the distribution process in order to deliver it to the users and developers of Linux quickly, and at a lower cost."

With over a dozen commercial products to his credit, theKompany.com president and CEO Shawn Gordon has himself lead software development for over 15 years in nine different languages. He has served as information and technology officer for ReviewCo, a division of Foundation Health; PayUSA, Bourns, Inc.; and L.A. Gear.
