FreeSWITCH Training BootCamp - First Official East Coast Training offered Oct 13th - 15th, 2010 in New York City!
  Aug 31st, 18:27 UTC

As part of its ongoing commitment to the FreeSWITCH community, VoIPKB is pleased to announce the first Official East Coast FreeSWITCH Training Bootcamp. A continuation of the trainings that began in June, this is the official, authorized FreeSWITCH course covering the core system and its related modules.

FreeSWITCH Training Bootcamp is a three day, hands on, course offered in New York City. Darren Schreiber, co-author of the FreeSWITCH book, leads the classes. During the class, students will learn, step by step, how to configure, manage and program the FreeSWITCH telephony softswitch in great detail. This FreeSWITCH Bootcamp accelerates learning for students with a Linux background who want to participate in the explosive growth of open-source voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephony.

The next upcoming bootcamp will be held Oct 13th - 15th, 2010 in New York, NY. More information and registration is available at VoIPKB.com.

Topics that will be covered in this course:
  • Install FreeSWITCH on a Linux Machine
  • Understanding configuration files and the default configuration
  • Call authentication and routing basics
  • Integration modules
  • Understanding presence
  • Load balancing and high availability
  • FreeSWITCH Internals
  • How to debug and troubleshoot FreeSWITCH
  • Building Custom C Modules
  • Advanced Modules

Prerequisites

The introductory course assumes that students are already familiar with Linux, Linux administration, networking and network administration including TCP/IP and UDP/IP. Specifics of Linux and networking as they apply to FreeSWITCH installation and configuration are covered. In conjunction with the FreeSWITCH team, course registration can be combined with the upcoming ClueCon convention and conference in Chicago, IL. This offers a savings compared to registering for both events individually while providing a superior experience to become fully endulged in what FreeSWITCH has to offer.
