CoverityTM Expands Executive Team With CFO, CMO and General Counsel

Coverity, Inc., the leader in improving software quality and security, today announced three new senior executives have joined the company. The newly established leadership roles include Chief Financial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and General Counsel. Coverity expanded its executive team as part of its growth plan to expand into international markets, extend its market leading portfolio, and increase its market leadership. The expansion of Coverity's leadership team follows a year of aggressive growth, during which time the company completed two acquisitions while adding over 200 new customers.

The new Coverity executives include:
  • Jeff Van Zanten, CFO - At Coverity, Jeff will lead the management of the Coverity's finance, human resources, operations and IT departments. Prior to Coverity, Jeff was the CFO of Symphony Services, a global leader in outsourced research and development. He also has held CFO and other executive level positions with Scient Corporation, Purple Moon Software and Advent Software.
  • Dave Peterson, CMO - At Coverity, Dave will lead all areas of marketing, product marketing and management, and corporate communications. He has previously served as VP of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Mercury Interactive, one of the world's largest enterprise software companies, which was acquired by HP in 2007. He has also served as CMO and other leadership positions at Aggregate Knowledge, Cybrant, and Vantive Corporation.
  • Mona Sabet, VP and general counsel - At Coverity Mona will manage all legal and regulatory matters for the company worldwide. She joins Coverity from Cadence Design Systems, a leader in electronic design automation software where she was vice president and associate general counsel. Prior to Cadence, she spent 8 years practicing at private law firms.

We have doubled the size of our company to over 150 employees, increased expansion in Europe and Asia and diversified our product portfolio through acquisition and internal development," said Seth Hallem, Coverity's co-founder and CEO. "The addition of these seasoned executives completes Coverity's leadership team and sets the stage for an aggressive and exciting 2009 for both our company and our customers."

    In addition to the new executive leaders, Kirk Bowman has also joined Coverity's board of directors, joining Paul Holland of Foundation Capital, Aki Fujimura and Tony Zingale. Kirk Bowman has more than 19 years of experience in high technology, most recently as executive vice president of worldwide field operations at Equallogic.
