IDG's InfoWorld BOSSIE Awards Recognize Leaders in Open Source Software

Annapolis, MD (August 21, 2008) - Zenoss Core has been awarded the InfoWorld Best of Open Source Software Award in the Network Monitoring category. The InfoWorld judges cited Zenoss Core's "unified, object-based repository of infrastructure monitoring," and "tightly integrated tools and reports," as reasons for selecting Zenoss Core as the leading open source solution for network monitoring. The Zenoss Core project is sponsored and developed by Zenoss, Inc. a leading provider of open source network, systems and application management software.

"The breadth and quality of open source software continues to amaze us," notes Doug Dineley, Executive Editor of the InfoWorld Test Center. "We've singled out 60 products for Bossies -- developer tools, middleware, firewalls and routers, productivity apps, CRM and ERP, etc. -- and we're only scratching the surface. When you look at all that's available, and how good it is, you start to think that someday all software will be free."

This is one of many recent accolades for Zenoss. In July, Zenoss Core was selected as a finalist in the SourceForge Community Choice Awards from over 180,000 projects hosted on SourceForge.net. Finalists were chosen by the popular vote of the open source community. Zenoss was selected in the Best Project for the Enterprise and Best Tool or Utility for SysAdmins categories.

Also in July, the Northern Virginia Technical Council named Zenoss Inc. the Venture Capital Deal of the Year after it completed an $11 million series B financing round funded by Grotech Ventures, Intersouth Partners and Boulder Ventures.

"We are pleased to be recognized as a leader in open source," said Zenoss CEO, Bill Karpovich. "Strong adoption of our open source product has been the catalyst for our impressive year over year customer and revenue growth. Contributions from our community have also greatly enhanced our solution and enabled us to deliver deeper, more relevant capabilities to our customers than our competition."
